epsotech Team – Who? Where from? And How? … are we actually: We ask.

To find out what really makes working at epsotech special, you have to get to know the people who shape us and our culture. You can find the answers here - every two weeks.

Frank
our all-rounder in production. Learn more about Frank in the interview.

Our question to warm up

How long have you been part of the epsotech family?

I have been working at epsotech - then still Metzeler Plastics - since 1995.

What we always wanted to know

What do you do at epsotech and why are you so passionate about your job?

As Production Controller, I support the smooth production process and am involved in technical, commercial and organizational tasks. So variety and challenge are guaranteed!

A look behind the scenes

What makes you stand out and what are you particularly good at?

My scope of work makes me a real all-rounder, with different competencies and skills. An important basic requirement is flexibility, because we have to react confidently to new situations at any time in ongoing operations and quickly find the optimal solution to a problem.

The other side of the coin

What is also sometimes annoying?

epsotech has become a second family to me over the years and I feel very comfortable here. As in every good relationship, there are many ups and also one or two downs.

Work is only half of life

Where can we find you when you're not working?

I spend my free time with my family and close friends. We like to go to the movies and also have a nice dinner once or twice. I regularly do fitness sports.

Eva
our eagly eye of the quality department. Learn more about Eva in the interview.

Our question to warm up

How long have you been part of the epsotech family?

In 2015, I started at epsotech (then still Metzeler Plastics) as an apprentice.

What we always wanted to know

What do you do at epsotech and why are you so passionate about your job?

The core objective of Claim Management is to turn a customer who is dissatisfied with a delivered product into a satisfied customer. Our internal goal is, of course, to prevent complaints from arising in the first place. As a Claim Manager, I check and evaluate complaints in all directions, for their justification and their amount.

A look behind the scenes

What makes you stand out and what are you particularly good at?

The criteria by which customers judge quality today have become much more diverse. The requirements vary depending on industry and application. Negotiating skills, service orientation, but also market knowledge are required here, and that's an exciting combination for me.

The other side of the coin

What is also sometimes annoying?

Of course, the customer is king, but sometimes the complaints are not justified. A solution that satisfies both sides is not always easy to achieve.

Work is only half of life

Where can we find you when you're not working?

I love to travel - following the motto "life is better at the beach".

Christoph
our logistics expert or as we call him "space-time magician". Learn more about Christoph in the interview.

Our question to warm up

How long have you been part of the epsotech family?

I have joined epsotech in 2018.

What we always wanted to know

What do you do at epsotech and why are you so passionate about your job?

As Head of Dispatch I make sure that our goods reach our customers on time and in full. Together with my team, I plan transports and pick-ups and we try every day to make even the impossible possible.

A look behind the scenes

What makes you stand out and what are you particularly good at?

Anyone who works in logistics often needs strong nerves. I always try to keep a cool head and compensate for the deadline pressure with good planning.

The other side of the coin

What is also sometimes annoying?

Despite good preparation, sometimes a plan doesn’t work out in terms of time; unfortunately we cannot yet beam the goods to the customer.

Work is only half of life

Where can we find you when you're not working?

My family and friends are my balance to the stressful everyday life. I like to play soccer or go for a run.

Florian
the unsung hero of our everyday company life. Learn more about Florian in the interview.

Our question to warm up

How long have you been part of the epsotech family?

To put it quite precisely – 3 years and seven months.

What we always wanted to know

What do you do at epsotech and why are you so passionate about your job?

I am a system administrator and responsible for all topics concerning our IT systems. The top priority is, of course, to ensure that they run smoothly. And this brings new challenges every day, which makes the job varied and motivates you to keep learning.

A look behind the scenes

What makes you stand out and what are you particularly good at?

My job requires me to quickly learn new processes, analyze and apply them. With my positive nature, I infect other colleagues and can distract them from the one or other annoying update.

The other side of the coin

What is also sometimes annoying?

"I didn't press any button, all of a sudden it was like this".

Work is only half of life

Where can we find you when you're not working?

I need a sporty balance to the daily work routine; I spend a lot of time on the sports field, bicycle or in the gym.

Leoni
our hen in the basket and dual student in the field of mechanical engineering with integrated training as an industrial mechanic. Learn more about Leoni in the interview.

Our question to warm up

How long have you been part of the epsotech family?

Compared to the many experienced team members, I'm still quite new to the team and have only been with epsotech since 2020.

What we always wanted to know

What do you do at epsotech and why are you so passionate about your job?

I am learning the job of an industrial mechanic specializing in maintenance as part of a dual study program. I am particularly interested in combining theory with practice and finding direct application scenarios.

A look behind the scenes

What makes you stand out and what are you particularly good at?

I am an open-minded and curious person. I always want to expand my horizons. I'm also very on time and helpful. Of course, my colleagues appreciate that very much.

The other side of the coin

What is also sometimes annoying?

Unfortunately, work processes and schedules don't always match up in theory and practice. Especially in a shift operation, you have to be quite flexible and sometimes need to throw lesson plans overboard.

Work is only half of life

Where can we find you when you're not working?

In my free time I am sporty and like to ride my bike, go dancing and play tennis. Of course, preferably in nice company.
